Someone to protect: Introductions

InuTaisho stood at the foot of the large bed, shaking his head in disbelief. He knew Lord Higurashi was a terrible man, but he never knew he would hurt his own flesh and blood. He couldn't beleive the two young princesses were beaten behind the walls built to protect them and by the man who gave them life. The young girl known as Rin was asleep after the endless running she had endure for two straight days and nights.

Laying next to her was her unconcious older sister known as Kagome. She had it much worse than Rin. She had the many scars and purple bruises to proove it. He watched in awe as Inuyasha sat next to Rin and was caressing her little head while holding the now fully awake kitsune in is lap, the child's soft white blanket draped down Inuyasha's knees from the baby's energetic kicks.

Like him and Sesshomaru, Inuyasha was the kind that never shown emotion or effection, only his tough, male bravado. Now he saw a whole new side of him he had never seen before.

Telling by the look in his eyes and his effection for the girl, InuTaisho knew Inuyasha had finally found someone to protect. Though he was crossing his claws for Sesshomaru to do the same. He may be immortal but he sure wasn't getting any younger. He wanted his oldest to give him grandpups, and soon.

Only Inuyasha seemed to care for the humans, Sesshomaru had shown no interest since the battle ended and was ignoring their new guests as much as he could. It had been a week since they were saved and hadn't been able to return from their sleepy state.

"Father."

"Hn."

"Is this what you were talking about?"

"What do you mean Inuyasha?"

"The feeling once you know you have found someone to protect, someone worth living for?" InuTaisho's smile grew, "Have you found yours Inuyasha?"

"Yes." InuTaisho looked through the corner of his eye to Sesshomaru before speaking to him, "See that Sesshomaru. Your little brother has found his someone."

"Half brother." Both of them said in unison.

"You are still my flesh and blood and so for that you are brothers. Well?" Sesshomaru had his back to the scene and didn't look back as he spoke to his father, still keeping his cold tone,"Hn...It's pathetic. The half breed trully is your son father. He's following in your footsteps."

"Hey! Who ya callin half breed ya moron! And don't even think about insulting my mother, she was a better mate and mother than yours ever was! There is nothing wrong with loving a human. We're not human hatin ice bastards like you." Inuyasha shouted, holding out his fist towards Sesshomaru all while keeping his grip on the kitsune.

"Quiet the both of you."

"Why do you shelter or even care for humans then father if they will die eventually? It is wastefull of our time."

"Oh please don't you dare hide from me Sesshomaru. I know you have found yours as well." After those words, for once Sesshomaru decided to pay attention to the sleeping girls, looking straight at Kagome over his shoulder, "I will never stoop as low as you once did father. I remain the same. I will protect no one."

InuTaisho was frustrated. His son would never admit he would ever fall in love with a human. But he too sensed his son's admiration to the girl's aura, one day he will admit it to himself and everyone else before it is too late. Then he had a plan. Sesshomaru will have no other choice but to surrender to his beast's instincts after what he had in mind.

A minute later a soft grown was heard from Rin's lips. Inuyasha quickly turned his attention back to her as her eyes fluttered open.

"Goodmornin sleeping beauty." He told her as she looked up at him. Inside she felt like screaming but then she remembered what had happened. He was no threat, he had saved her and Kagome. Kagome! She shot up and panickly asked where Kagome was. InuTaisho chuckled as he pointed to the figure laying next to her. She looked limp but her chest was slowly rising and falling.

"Will she be alright?"

"Don't worry child she will be fine. We just have to wait for her to wake up."

"Hn. Don't count on it." Sesshomaru said.

"Wh-what?" Rin asked, close to crying. Inuyasha brought the kitsune down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her, "Don't listen to him. She will be alright."

"For how long the both of you were out, I highly doubt she will ever wake up now that you are up and she is not."

"Shut up ya bastard!" Inuyasha growled, his arms still around Rin in his warm embrace. InuTaisho pushed Sesshomaru at his back continuously to get him out of the room and closed the door behind him.

"Do not worry. Our healers are the best in all the west. She will wake up soon." Hopping to get her worried mind off of her sister, Inuyasha introduced himself and his father. She bowed her head to both of them then asked about Sesshomaru.

"Keh that was my half brother Sesshomaru or as I call him, Ice Prince or my favorite, Bastard."

"That's no way to talk to family, even if he is a meanie." Rin told him. InuTaisho couldn't help but laugh, making the kitsune laugh with him.

"And who is this little guy?"

"Shippo, we adopted him a month ago after we found him alone in the woods."

"He is a cute wittle guy huh Shippo." InuTaisho said in baby talk to Shippo, who just smiled wide and tried to blow siliva bubbles.

"Dad." Inuyasha whined as his face turned red. Rin giggled along with InuTaisho who had burst out in laughter.
